Youth Week 2026

Celebrate Youth Week this year from 16 - 26 April. The City of Newcastle is hosting a program of events at a range of venues across the city including Newcastle Museum, Newcastle Libraries and Wallsend Skate Park, offering creative workshops, live entertainment and youth‑led activities.

2026 Program Highlights

  • Zine Club Meet Up - Create and connect through zine‑making.                                                                              Thursday 16 April, 5.30pm–7.30pm Newcastle Library
  • Future Makers Festival - Live music, art‑making, upcycled fashion, demos, food truck and more.                      Friday 17 April, 1pm–5.30pm – Newcastle Museum. Drop in event, no bookings required.
  • Surviving Dystopia - Creative writing workshop: Friday 17 April, 1.30pm–3 pm – Newcastle Museum.           Bookings Essential
  • Refashion Lab - Upcycling T-Shirts: Friday 17 April, 2.30pm–4 pm & 4pm–5.30pm NewcastMuseum.           Bookings Essential
  • Youth Changemaker Awards Night - Cultural showcases, performances and youth achievement awards.            Friday 24 Apr, 3–9 pm – Newcastle Museum                                                                                                                                Bookings Essential
  • Youth Week Skate Comp Inclusive skate divisions, DJs, and food trucks. Monday 27 April, 1–5 pm – Wallsend Skate Park.
