Management Plan

Council listens to the people of Newcastle and involves them in decision making about the future development of our city.

Bang the Table online discussionNewcastle City Council has placed the draft Management Plan on public exhibition from 29 April 2007 to 27 May for community comment. 

This year’s draft Management Plan has been guided by three key principles; providing opportunities for early and meaningful community input, maintaining a focus on addressing the infrastructure challenge and ensuring the current Council provides a solid platform for the next Council to be elected in September.

Council is looking for your input into this draft Plan.

Management Plan

Part 1 of the Management Plan

Part 1 of the Management Plan is a summary of Council’s activities and projects. It shows the strategic framework provided by the Councillors’ five strategic priorities. These priorities are; ESD leadership, city wide revitalisation, healthy lifestyle, compassionate community, and effective and efficient governance.

Detailed Budget

Part 2 of the Management Plan looks at the detailed budgets for each area of Council. It outlines service unit budgets and plans, including operating expenses, income and staff numbers. It also provides a detailed listing of major projects and the major asset preservation program, minor capital program, fleet replacement program and actions to achieve Council’s strategic priorities and policies.

Fees and Charges

Part 3 of the Management Plan, the fees and charges register, outlines fees for 2008/2009 All user-pay services are in this document, including car parking charges, swimming centre fees, footway restaurant fees, parks and recreational fees and building certificate fees.

The 2008/2009 Management Plan is the last Management Plan for the current Council. A new Council will be elected in September 2008.
