Marilyn Eade was elected to Council in 1999. She has a background teaching visual art in local high schools.
Marilyn is a committee member of the Maritime Centre, Fort Scratchley Historical Society, Public Art Advisory Committee, BBC (affordable housing forum), Hunter Writer’s Centre and the City-Centre, Mayfield and Darby Main-street Committees. These committees reflect her interest in the sustainable development of Newcastle as a great place to live in and visit.
Marilyn believes in protecting the local character of our suburbs while increasing their residential density. She is committed to representing the interests of all Newcastle citizen’s by listening to the community at community and business forums. Marilyn encourages full participation in Council’s democratic processes.
