Friends of the Museum
The Friends of the Newcastle Regional Museum Inc. was set up in 1994. Our aim is to promote greater public interest in, and support for, the Newcastle Regional Museum.
We do this by conducting social gatherings, exhibition previews and excursions. Members also receive the Museum's newsletter.
The Friends have provided funding for a number of projects to assist the Museum to serve the people of our region.
Friends of Newcastle Regional Museum Inc is a member of the Australian Federation of Friends of Museums (AFFM), and thus, through this body, affiliated with other leading Museums and Science Centres throughout Australia. Many of these affiliated bodies offer, upon request, a special welcome and privileges are extended to Friends of Newcastle regional Museum.
The Friends of Newcastle Regional Museum are happy to welcome and coordinate visits, tours or functions for other members of the Australian Federation of Friends of Museums.
Most importantly, membership of the Friends is a practical way of supporting the Newcastle Regional Museum – a leading Regional Museum in New South Wales
