Here are ten important tips to keep in mind

  • Never swim alone.
  • Read and obey all signs around swimming areas.
  • When at the beach, swim where the lifeguards patrol, between the red & yellow flags
  • If in trouble stay calm and signal for help
  • Always make sure the pool gate is closed
  • Don’t run on the wet concrete
  • Check the depth before diving in anywhere
  • When boating, always wear a Life Jacket
  • When near a dam, lake or river, beware of slippery banks & submerged objects
  • Never have electrical items near water.
