The Guraki Advisory Committee is marking ten years of working to strengthen the relationship between Aboriginal peoples and the City of Newcastle.

- 2009 Waste as Art competition - 03 Jul 2009 - Waste as Art 2009 is the tenth and largest in the competition’s history, with over 240 works on exhibition and over $7000 in prizes being awarded.

- Estuary plan on display - 01 Jul 2009 - A plan to look after one of the region’s most important assets, the Hunter Estuary, will be on display for community comment from Monday 6 July.
- Food for Fort - 01 Jul 2009 - Sweeping ocean, harbour and city views and heritage combined with first class modern facilities will soon be served up at Fort Scratchley Historic Site now the catering contract has been executed by Newcastle City Council.
